Momodou Musa Touray is an award winning film director. He graduated from the prestigious Arts Institute at Bournemouth in June 2008 where he specialised in film directing. His first short Mirrage was shown in film festivals around the world including the British Film Institute in London and the Camera Image Film Festival in Poland in 2007.
His graduation film, Sweet Mother, recently won the Special Mention Award at the Royal Television Society Student Awards and was premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2009 where it received the Trailblazer Award. The film was also shown at the Expresion En Corto in Mexico City 2009. Momodou was selected by the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the UK Sector Skills Council for Creative Media (Skillset) as one of 25 British Cinema Trailblazers of 2009.
His love for films started way back in the Gambia when he was a practising print journalist. After relocating to Britain he decided to pursue his first love, which is filmmaking. He enrolled at the Wigan and Leigh College where he did a course on the Introduction to Filmmaking before proceeding to the prestigious Arts Institute at Bournemouth to pursue a filmmaking degree.
He has an unsurpassed passion for filmmaking and the visual arts. Some of his films were shot on locations in Manchester, Bournemouth, Salisbury and London in the United Kingdom.
